Moraira - Nightlife
The relatively small village centre of Moraira is the hub of the local cosmopolitan society and buzzes with life on a day and night basis. There are numerous small bars and cafeterias and, as darkness falls and night-life takes over, the many restaurants begin to fill and the evening strollers appear.
Many of the Moraira restaurants have live entertainment, especially during the summer season and there are often organised "happenings" in the village. The Teulada town hall promotes musical, artistic and cultural events both in the Town Hall itself and in Moraira - details of these are available at the Moraira Tourist Information Office.
Moraira has only one disco, the COSTA SUR, which is located strategically away from the built-up area of Moraira. During the Summer season, almost every night, they provide shows and spectacles including Miss - Bikini/Topless/Tanga/Wet T-Shirt/Turismo and Mr - Macho/Legs/Hairy Chest - competitions, Foam Parties, Flamenco Dancers and Striptease.
Late night "disco" entertainment in the open air is also provided at the SAXO DISCO GARDEN (who have an inside dance floor) and ALGAS ( - in a real holiday setting, right on the beach). Both do snack meals and Algas is also open during the day as a beach bar.
Many Moraira bars and restaurants have live entertainment - flamenco guitarists, jazz and blues, pop music etc. The Spanish people just love to sing and (generally have good singing voices). Karaoke is available at Tiffinays in the European Shopping Centre (Friday and Monday (Summer only) and El Corigedor in front of the Moraira Castle. You may have heard it all before but Spanish music can give it a new dimension - especially when they clap and dance as well!
There is so much going on, especially during the summer months, that it would be impossible to provide full details on these pages. As plans are always likely to be changed (or added to) - please talk to your holiday rep. when you arrive!
There are also numerous other establishments in Moraira which are licensed until the early hours of the morning for music, dancing etc. Notably among these:
Scruples and Don Quixote - behind the European Shopping Centre.
The Bar Andaluz (at the junction Moraira/Teulada/Benitachell) and El Molinet (bottom of Camino del Campamento) both have flamenco-style entertainment guitar and/or dancers.
Many of the Snackbar/Restaurant type establishments have "their night" with some kind of live entertainment and we have tried to provide a full list. As many events are arranged at almost the last moment then its worthwhile looking around as well.
